Dog Walks 125 Miles With ‘Tears In Her Eyes’ To Find Owner Who Abandoned Her

Alla Morozova is the owner of a shelter in Novosibirsk, Russia, where Maru, a noble Bullmastiff dog, was adopted by a couple when she was five months old. Unfortunately, after six months, Alla received a phone call from the couple, who claimed to have animal allergies and needed to return her to the shelter.

"I never give up my dogs, and when they adopt one, it is stipulated that the owners should notify me if they can no longer have it," Alla said.

Given the situation, it was decided to send Maru on a train back to the shelter and an assistant agreed to take care of him, but after approximately 125 miles of the trip (201 km), the train stopped at a station near Achinsk and the dog escaped. The Siberian Times reports.

Maru was terrified because the people she trusted most had abandoned her, and the train was too loud.

She jumped into the compartment, kicked the handle, and nearly knocked the driver out of her path.

No one could hold her, so Maru's manager immediately contacted the couple to report her disappearance, and they contacted Alla, who requested that they search for her in the Achinsk area, but both refused.

The couple seemed unconcerned, as if the dog was no longer their responsibility.

Maru is thought to have walked from that station to Krasnoyarsk's industrial area.

Alla, for her part, decided to spread messages about Maru through flyers and social media.

The dog was found two and a half days later in an industrial area of Krasnoyarsk, attempting to reach the home where she had been rejected; she was injured and tired, with "tears in her eyes," according to her rescuers.

She had to go through the Russian forests, plagued by brown bears and wolves. It's incredible that she survived and that she has such an acute sense of location.

Alla stated: "Geographically, she had no reference point at all. She used to walk alone in the courtyard in the city and never went anywhere else ».

Maru was tired and lame, and her paws, paws, and mouth were all injured. Before being found, she had fallen from a train embankment.

Had she not been injured, the noble dog would surely have returned to the place she considered home.

Now Maru is undergoing treatment to overcome her ordeal with her biological parents at the shelter in Novosibirsk, and is also undergoing treatment for her injuries.
