A pit bull's reaction to his first night at home after finally being adopted has warmed hearts online, as the dog was photographed with a huge smile on his face.

According to the owner, who recounted the event on Reddit, it was his first night at home after being adopted.

The newly-adopted pit bull was pictured happily hugging his small human sibling, a huge smile on his face, finally safe and at ease in his forever home.

"His smile made me melt inside, and I knew I'd made the right choice," the proprietor added.
