When Joey Maxwell and his wife first met Maverick at a death shelter, he was nothing more than skin and bones. Mav became a member of their family once they adopted him, and they lived a happy six years together.
When the dog was diagnosed with lymphoma a few years ago, Maxwell did everything he could to help his four-legged companion fight the sickness. The first round of chemotherapy went well. But the disease struck again two months ago, rendering him immobile.
As a result, the dog's owner decided to transport the dog in a waggon. Making Mav's final days as joyful as possible had a substantial detrimental impact on the dog's health at first.
According to Maxwell, when they take the dog for a walk, "he howls at everyone that walks by until they pet him because he thinks the whole world is there to love on him."
And he could be right. It's incredible how much love and support Maxwell and his dog get. For example, after telling his story, Maxwell received a 50% discount on a waggon, and both he and the Lowe's cashier burst into tears. People approach Maverick to show their affection now that he is well-known in Maxwell's small village.
Mav absolutely enjoys the rides. As a result, the dog may be gaining strength every day.
"We're in a good position because we understand how much Mav means to so many other people right now, and we understand that he has experienced every bit of that in return," said the speaker.
Maverick is picking up on the positive vibe; he can now sit up on his own and is gaining strength by the day.
