Justice the Pit Bull is more than meets the eye, like most canines. He may not look like your usual dog, but he is charming in his own unique way. He simply had a terrible start in life that was not his fault in any way. Justice had been abused and abandoned, but he survived and found his way to the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter. At the shelter, he finally discovered what it was like to be loved and respected, as every dog should be. Justice is now loving life and defying the odds. He can only hope that his awful assailants would be held accountable for their actions.
In 2018, Justice was seen wandering the streets of Indiana. He was about two years old and covered with severe chemical burns that appeared to have been done on purpose. It's a miracle he survived even for a short period of time on his own.
The group immediately supplied Justice with the medical attention he required. He had to be wrapped in bandages at first. Then, slowly but steadily, his skin began to mend and some of his fur returned. He'll never look the same after the catastrophe, but that's okay. The shelter staff adores him for who he is, and it turns out that the rest of the world does as well.
"He was very sad at first," Jessica Lynch, a veterinarian, explained. "He's certainly come a long way." He now has a lot more personality. He's now a tremendously upbeat, feisty young man."
After about a year of medical attention and training, Justice was ready to be put up for adoption. Many supporters, including those from neighboring states and countries, had already lined up to adopt him! However, because the veterinarians wanted to be close by in case Justice needed any additional treatments in the future, the shelter would only accept applications from persons living within a 100-mile radius.
Justice was adopted quickly, as promised, and he quickly adjusted to his new home. He amassed quite a following during his time in the shelter, so his parents continue to post updates about him on the shelter's social media. They have shown that the cute puppy is now loving life despite everything he has been through.
Because of his rough past, Justice's training was challenging. When told what to do, he was frequently recalcitrant and put up a fight. That's why an exceptional dog trainer named Lexi worked with him for over a year to teach him. He grew to like her over time, and he's now much more willing to work with her. Lexi stated that Justice will only have one more training session with her.
Justice grows more at ease in his own home every day. He's a lot more affectionate than he used to be, and he even requests belly massages from his loving parents. Rolling over may appear like a little gesture, but in most dogs, it is a sign of frailty. Having his tummy caressed shows that Justice has complete faith in his people. He knows he will never be hurt again as long as he is with them.
The shelter has worked relentlessly since its start to uncover who was responsible for Justice's maltreatment. The reward for this person's conviction began at $5,000 and has now grown all the way to $20,000.
Unfortunately, the case has not yet been solved, although countless anonymous tips have brought the shelter closer. They discovered a person who used to have Justice and went by the name "Roscoe" at the time. It's uncertain if the person who claimed to have given Justice away before the event is telling the truth. Unfortunately, there isn't enough evidence to charge anyone with this horrible crime either way.
If you have any information about Justice's current location, please contact the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter. The evil person who hurt him should be punished as soon as possible.
